Chapter Topics ~ Spring 2025

Message from the Chapters Council Chair

I can’t believe that the year has gone by! I hope it was as productive and rewarding as you had hoped. Thank you all for your support and service to ACRL. Thanks also to all our officers who have worked on Chapters Council this past year: Eric Edwards, Gary Marks, Sarah McHone-Chase, Ana Diamand, Amber Willenborg, and Laura E. Hall.  And thank you to those who are stepping up for 2025-2026!

Join us on Monday July 14 at 12 noon EST for our next meeting at which we will hold elections for the roles of Secretary and Vice Chair/Chair/Past Chair, and we will discuss our Work Plan for the upcoming year. Zoom details and agenda will come via Connect.

In our focus on promoting the value of academic libraries to relevant constituents, we partnered this year with the ALA Committee on Library Advocacy (COLA) Ecosystem Subcommittee to host a workshop on how we can leverage our own ecosystems to advocate for academic libraries. It was titled “Leveraging Our Library Ecosystem to Communicate Our Value.” This was Part A. Thanks to all our panelists.

Look out for Part B of the workshop this fall as well as a brief survey to gauge your interest and knowledge about the breadth of your individual ecosystems.

Regarding our Chapter Topics newsletter, we sought advocacy stories along are still seeking reports that you have already compiled on your chapter. This is in addition to the regular content that we call for

Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday July 16.
