Chapter Topics ~ Spring 2019

This is beginning to become a (happy) habit! Here you have our third issue of the relaunched ACRL Chapter Topics Newsletter, part of the ACRL Chapters LibGuides. The hope is that this site should serve as a one-stop-shop for all your Chapter needs. Since the last issue, Chapters Council has met at the ALA Midwinter Conference 2019 in Seattle. For the first time, too, we have also successfully held our Work Group meeting virtually (via Zoom) on February 21st of this year. We hope to repeat the online format in the future to better meet Chapter needs.

On another note, nominations or self-nominations are now open for Chapters Council Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect (3-year term as Vice-Chair, Chair, Past Chair), for Secretary (1-year term) and for Chapter List Administrator (1-year term).  If you are interested in running, please let Lisa Nickel ltnickel@wm.edu our current Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect know of your interest. So we may prepare a ballot, short bios, .jpg headshots, and position statements would also be requested of nominees for the upcoming election at the next Chapters Council meeting at ALA Annual on Sunday June 23rd. Terms would begin as of July 1, 2019.

Also, please continue to consider the items on best practices and professional development you would like to submit for future issues of this Chapter Topics and thereby share with all Chapters. Our Chapter Topics editor, Leslin Charles leslin.charles@rutgers.edu, will continue to curate your chapter stories and news.
